Keira Knightley
Knightley, born in London in the family with actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald aged six, began her career in television commercials and films. Knightley played Sabe, a small role for her in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). Her first big breakthrough was in the role of a teenage footballer in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002) The film then went on to gain international fame for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy series Pirates of the Caribbean, beginning in 2003. Knightley was labeled a promising teenage star after being featured for the role of Love Actually (2003). Knightley got an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Knightley was also in many more period films like Atonement (2007 which was a romance), The Duchess, (2008) as well as Anna Karenina, (2012). In Anna Karenina, she also played a socialite named Georgiana as part of The Duchess. She also branched out into contemporary dramas. Begin Again, (2013) was a role for her as the role of a singer who is aspiring to be one, while Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her as a medical school student. Knightley has returned to films of the past as Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014) that earned her a nomination for The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress She also played the writer named after her in Colette (2018).
